Chemist: Hello, can I help?

Customer: Yes, my wife sent me here. I, erm, need something for a sore throat … and I can't stop coughing. It really hurts.

Chemist: Do you have a headache too?

Customer: Not really, no.

Chemist: Well, we have this syrup. And these lozenges.

Customer: Which is better?

Chemist: They're both good. The syrup is more expensive.

Customer: Oh, well … I'll take the lozenges, then. How many do I take?

Chemist: Just one.

Customer: Sorry, I'm sorry. Er, how often should I take it?

Chemist: Just one every four to six hours. Take it before mealtimes. Are you allergic to any medicine?

Customer: No.

Chemist: Then you'll be fine with this.

Customer: Can I get some antibiotics too?

Chemist: I'm afraid you need a prescription for that.

Customer: Ah.

Chemist: You know, you should really see a doctor if that cough continues.

Customer: Thanks. I know.

Chemist: Anything else?

Customer: No, thanks.

Chemist: That'll be £7.49 then, please.

Every year I'll catch flu once or twice and it takes me 5 to 7 days to heal. My recommendation for treatment is to get more sleep and eat more nutritious food. You are also recommended to drink water, especially hot water if you get a cough or a sore throat. I avoid taking medicine as I don't think using tablets whenever you get a cold will be good for your health.

Thanks for your reading.

I usually get a cold once a year. When I get a cold, I often visit a doctor to prescribe some drug for me to heal faster.

I don't usually get colds. But when I do, I recommend drinking lots of water, lemon juice with panela and resting.

I get cold in the winter when the weather is cold and there are viruses in the air. I try to put on hot clothes and eat nutritious food that contains ingredients like protein and vitamins.

I usually get a cough or a cold each 2 months, I have to sleep a lot (maybe more than 10 hours) during 4 days so that I can feel much better.

I seldom get a cold and cough but If I get it, it takes a month to treat. That is why I eat balanced food most of the time. I make sure that I eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and drink a lot of water. I avoid sweets, canned foods, and any preservatives.

Every year I’ll catch flu once or twice during the season changing from Autumn to Winter. If it’s not so heavy, I’ll go to pharmacy to buy lozenges to take as soon as possible.
However, if it comes with soar throat and headache, I’d really see a doctor immediately.

Luckily for me, I don't get coughs or a colds very often, indeed I've rarely get one in the winter where it's colder here than the rest of the year, but when I've got a cough and a cold I try to not take any medicine unless I have a sore throat and headaches, in that case I usually drink a lot of hot mallow tea with a bit of lemon juice and thin slices of ginger, if that doesn't make me feel better in a couple of days I usually call a doctor. For the sore throat only I recommend the Ivy syrup and warm soup made with vegetables like celery, onion and garlic.

Thanks for the lesson.
